Hyundai’s perfect city car, the Hyundai i10, has had a revamp. It’s slicker, better equipped and more fuel efficient. Due out in 2017, here’s an overview of what you can expect of the car before booking a test drive with Berkeley Vale in Thornbury, Gloucestershire.
Hyundai has given the i10 a bolder look with protective cladding embedded into the side contours and a larger, reshaped grille. The front air intakes also have a more aggressive style, making it a sportier car all round. It will be available with a diverse range of colours from classic silver and black as well as blue, red and yellow tones.
Open the door and you’ll find a class-leading amount of space. There’s also an impressive 252-litre boot which grows to 1,046 litres if you fold the rear seats down. Choose a colour package to brighten up the interior trims, including the seating upholstery.
You’ll be able to choose from five trim levels to get the i10 that has all the features you desire. Every model comes with daytime running lights and Aux-In and USB ports. Upgrade to the SE for cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel controls. The Premium SE has rear parking sensors and a touchscreen with satellite navigation.
The new i10’s many trim levels mean there are a number of premium comfort features. In the SE you’ll find air conditioning while upgrading to the Premium will get you climate control. The Premium SE even has heated seats and steering wheel. Most of the i10s come with five seats, apart from the SE Blue. DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and cruise control are included in every model from the SE trim and upwards.
By choosing the Premium and Premium SE, you can enjoy the convenience of static cornering lights, fog lights, LED daytime running lights and privacy glass.
Choose between a 1.0-litre 65bhp engine and a 1.2-litre 85bhp unit, both petrol. Depending on the trim level you choose, you can opt between either manual and automatic transmission. It’s eco-friendly with CO2 emissions figures ranging from 93 to 139g/km. The lower figure is produced by the SE Blue with a 1.0-litre engine that uses start/stop technology to help you save on fuel.
Hyundai has revamped the safety features in the i10, with ESC and Vehicle Stability Management now included as standard. A tyre pressure monitoring system is another standard safety feature, as is a Brake Assist System. The Premium and Premium SE versions also come with Hill Start Assist.
